Ascension St. Vincent Enhances Women’s Health Services with New, Minimally Invasive Treatment Option

Ascension St. Vincent is expanding access to women's health care with the addition of Endometrial Cryotherapy, a minimally invasive treatment now available for patients experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) and painful periods (dysmenorrhea).

For many women, these conditions can significantly disrupt daily life by impacting work, family responsibilities and overall well-being. Endometrial Cryotherapy offers a new option that is both efficient and convenient, performed in-office without the need for general anesthesia, incisions or extended recovery time.

The treatment uses cold energy to reduce the uterine lining, helping decrease heavy bleeding and menstrual pain. The procedure takes about two and a half minutes to complete, and most patients are able to return to normal activities the next day.
