$300,000 Believe Walk donation advances cancer care at Loma Linda University Cancer Center

Loma Linda University Cancer Center received a $300,000 donation on June 16 from Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer, helping expand patient services, support programs, and access to innovative cancer treatments.

The contribution was raised through the 18th annual Believe Walk in October 2025, a community event that unites cancer survivors, patients, families, and supporters to advance cancer care throughout the Inland Empire.

Representatives from Stater Bros. Charities, Inland Women Fighting Cancer, and Loma Linda University Health gathered for a special presentation to commemorate the gift and its impact on patients across the region.

"When someone hears the word 'cancer,' life changes in an instant," said Anthony Hilliard, MD, president-elect of Loma Linda University Health and CEO of Loma Linda University Health hospitals. "Patients and families are suddenly faced with uncertainty, difficult decisions, and questions that often feel overwhelming. Support from our community helps provide the resources, guidance, and compassionate care that patients need at every step of their journey."

Funds from the donation will support patient-centered programs and help expand access to advanced therapies that are transforming cancer treatment and improving outcomes for patients.

"This gift represents far more than a financial contribution," Hilliard said. "It represents hope for patients, encouragement for families, and a community that is committed to walking alongside those facing cancer. That support helps ensure more people have access to the highest level of care close to home."

The Cancer Center has long benefited from Believe Walk fundraising efforts. Previous donations have helped fund patient support services, educational resources, and expanded access to innovative therapies that continue to shape the future of cancer care in the Inland Empire.

"We are deeply grateful to Stater Bros. Charities, Inland Women Fighting Cancer, and every person who participates in Believe Walk," Hilliard said. "Their generosity makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and strengthens our ability to provide exceptional care for the communities we serve."

As the Cancer Center continues to lead in cancer treatment innovation, the Believe Walk helps ensure these advancements reach every patient who needs them. The 19th annual Believe Walk will take place Sunday, October 4, bringing the community together once again for this vital cause. Join us in supporting patients, survivors, and their families by registering to walk or donating.
