State Visit by President of the Republic of Ecuador Daniel Noboa Azín 23 to 24 August 2026

President of the Republic of Ecuador Daniel Noboa Azín is on a State Visit to Singapore.

President Noboa called on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. President Tharman hosted a State Banquet in honour of President Noboa. President Tharman and President Noboa reaffirmed the warm ties between Singapore and Ecuador and discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as agri-business and exchanges between the two peoples. They also exchanged views on the shared challenges and growth opportunities for Singapore and Ecuador.

President Noboa also met Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong. Prime Minister Wong and President Noboa exchanged views on regional and international developments, and opportunities to strengthen cooperation in areas such as food security, digitalisation, and trade and investment. Following the meeting, Prime Minister Wong and President Noboa witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Development Cooperation by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Ecuador Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility Roberto Carlos Kury Pesantes.
