CBA Hosts Opening Meeting of IMF Mission

On September 16, the Central Bank of Armenia hosted an opening meeting with an IMF mission led by Alexander Tieman. The meeting was attended by CBA Governor Martin Galstyan and Deputy Governors Armen Nurbekyan and Hovhannes Khachatryan.

Discussions focused on recent macroeconomic developments, the economic outlook and key risks, as well as monetary and exchange rate policy, international reserves, and developments in the financial sector.The parties also reviewed progress on the structural benchmarks under the IMF-supported Stand-By Arrangement, including further improvements to the bank resolution framework, the payment system, the identification and management of climate-related risks, and capital market development.
