City Uses AlertSCC During Cuesta Water Main Emergency

In urgent situations, the City of Mountain View may utilize AlertSCC to quickly distribute messages to help keep residents safe and informed.

AlertSCC is the County of Santa Clara's emergency alert system. Resident information in the AlertSCC system is private and secure, and only trained 911 personnel can access it.

On Sunday, May 3, the City used the system to issue an alert to residents living in the neighborhood impacted by the Cuesta water main contamination emergency. The message concerned a super chlorination process scheduled to begin in the following days.

Alerts may be delivered by text message, phone call, and/or email. If you have questions about the City's alerts or use of the AlertSCC system, contact [email protected].

The public is encouraged to sign up for AlertSCC, a free, easy, and confidential way for anyone who lives or works in Santa Clara County to receive emergency warnings sent directly to their cell phone, mobile device, email, or landline. Sign up today!
