WASHINGTON, D.C. - After clearing the U.S. Senate by unanimous consent, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, legislation to allow schools participating in the National School Lunch Program to serve whole and reduced fat milk. The bill passed on Monday and now heads to the president's desk. Pennsylvania's U.S. Senators John Fetterman (D-PA) and Dave McCormick (R-PA) released the following joint statement:
"Whole milk IS BACK in America's schools.
"This is a commonsense bill that benefits everyone. PA farmers supply the country with some of the best milk year-round, and instead of limiting choices in our schools, this will expand the nutritious and healthy options for our kids.
"We 100% have the backs of our farmers, students, and their families, and thank our colleagues in the House and Senate for getting this done."
