Leader Schumer Statement On The Continuing Resolution

New York, N.Y. - Today, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) issued the following statement on the continuing resolution that would extend government funding until December 11^th:

"For months, Democrats have been clear: we want to fund the government, avoid a shutdown, and pass strong, bipartisan appropriations bills that improve people's lives.

"The CR released today is a responsible path forward that allows continued bipartisan negotiations on a budget that delivers for American families.

"I thank Senator Murray for her tireless work on this deal and her success blocking Trump's disgraceful efforts to further politicize all federal grants.

"Democrats remain committed to funding negotiations that help hardworking Americans get ahead and stymie Trump's wasteful, corrupt agenda that has failed families."
