UPDATE #2: Additional Information Released about Multi-Victim Shooting in Cully Neighborhood

When PPB patrol officers were first dispatched to the report of a shooting, numerous officers responded and coordinated their efforts. The first team of officers moved into the scene about 10 minutes after the first 911 calls came in. They found a chaotic scene at what appeared to be a gathering at a house with well over a hundred people attending. Many people were leaving the area and officers did a hasty sweep of the scene looking for victims. They located two injured people. One appeared to need trauma first aid and officers applied a tourniquet. EMS responded to provide advanced care and the two victims were transported to the hospital by ambulance. Four additional victims arrived at hospitals via private vehicles. One was critically wounded and was transported to a level-1 trauma center for advanced care. Despite lifesaving efforts by medical staff, that victim died at the hospital. All other victims' injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

While the victims are not being named at this time, some information about them is available:

Deceased: adult male, 18, unknown city of residence

Injured: adult male, 20, of Vancouver, Washington

Injured: adult male, 21, of Portland

Injured: adult female, 18, of Gresham, Oregon

Injured: juvenile male, 15, of Troutdale, Oregon

Injured: adult male, 18, of Portland

There are multiple crimes scenes to process, the largest of which contains evidence of gunfire stretching over three blocks. So far, detectives and criminalists have located over 60 casings. There has been some damage to vehicles, both from gunfire and collisions. Due to the significance and complexity of this case, all available PPB Detectives were requested to respond, even those who were not on call. Homicide Unit, Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST), and other unit Detectives came in to follow up on leads, conduct interviews, seek evidence, and complete other investigative tasks. The PPB Forensic Evidence Division called in all available Criminalists to help process the scene. The PPB Traffic Division responded to use its drone-based overhead mapping system to help document the crime scene. Crime analysts responded from off-duty to help quickly research leads. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) offered to help and agents responded to assist. The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office responded to the scene. Chief Bob Day responded and briefed Mayor Keith Wilson via phone. And members of North Precinct's command staff were on scene as well.

The investigation revealed that PPB officers were called to this house earlier in the evening. Officers responded to reports of a large gathering at the house. PPB members had come in on overtime on a Street Takeover Mission due to some anticipated street racing activity, and they responded to the house. The attendees were cooperative and many people agreed to leave the home. When officers left at 12:38 a.m., there were about a dozen people left at the property and they were no longer creating a noise disturbance.

UPDATE: One Victim Deceased Following Cully Neighborhood Shooting

One of the shooting victims in the Cully Neighborhood shooting, an adult male, has died at the hospital. The other five injured have been treated and their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

One of the injured victims is a teenage juvenile. The rest are adults. Detectives are working to confirm information about those who were involved.

No arrests have been made.

Multiple Victims Shot at a House in the Cully Neighborhood, Suspect(s) Sought

At least six people were injured following a shooting at a home in the Cully Neighborhood, and the Portland Police Bureau is investigating and seeking the suspect or suspects responsible.

On Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 3:33 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a report of a shooting in the 5800 block of Northeast Alberta Street. When they arrived, they found two victims with apparent gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital by ambulance. A short time later, officers learned that four additional victims arrived at local hospitals by private vehicles. Preliminary information was that those victims were also injured in the shooting. The prognosis of the injured victims is not yet determined.

The suspect or suspects left the scene and no immediate arrests were made.

Officers closed the area to contain the crime scene and allow space for investigators to work. Northeast Alberta Street is closed between Northeast 57^th Avenue and Northeast 60^th Avenue. Northeast 57^th Avenue is closed between Northeast Alberta Street and Northeast Wygant Street.

Portland Police Homicide Unit Detectives are responding to the scene to investigate the case. There is reason to believe that numerous people were at the scene before and during the shooting and have not yet spoken to police.
