The Marquette University Police Department is hosting its next free self-defense class on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 4 p.m. in the Gold Studio at the Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility.

Registration for upcoming self-defense classes is available online.

Personal security awareness training classes are also available, including Wednesday, Feb. 18. More information and registration is available online.

MUPD regularly offers several free self-defense classes throughout the semester to students, faculty and staff. The free self-defense program uniquely combines a hands-on approach to learning effective techniques with information about the latest national and local crime trends.

These classes are designed for female and male audiences, and classes incorporate simple strategies for escaping potentially dangerous situations.
