Bridge inspection to close eastbound I-64 over Wabash River April 27

GRAYVILLE - The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that all lanes of eastbound Interstate 64 over the Wabash River near Grayville and the Illinois-Indiana state line will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, April 27, for a scheduled routine bridge inspection and minor maintenance work.

A marked detour will be in place to guide motorists around the closure, which is expected to remain in place overnight into the early morning hours. Westbound traffic will not be affected.

In the event of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled for the night of April 28.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
