The Chicks remembered Hayden Panettiere as "funny, talented, honest, and brave," in a tribute to the late actress on Wednesday (August 19).
The iconic country trio - made up of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer - shared a photo of Panettiere on Instagram. Panettiere died on Sunday (August 16) in Greenville, South Carolina. She was 36.
"Hayden was a beautiful chick, inside and out. Funny, talented, honest, and brave… with a heart of gold," The Chicks wrote in their caption. "Gone too soon, but never forgotten. Rest in peace, sweet Hayden.❤️❤️"
Others in the country music community have also taken part in the outpouring of tributes in memory of Panettiere. Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts shared a photo with the late actress and singer, writing that he'd "just heard the tragic news of Hayden's passing. I had the privilege of working with her several times during her years here in Nashville, this is absolutely heartbreaking.. prayers for the family." The Bluebird Cafe, a historic venue in Nashville, remembered her as "funny, incredibly talented, beautiful."
Panettiere performed at the intimate Bluebird Cafe while playing Juliette Barnes on the TV drama Nashville. The musical series followed "the lives and tragedies of rising and fading country music stars in Nashville, Tennessee," reads its description on IMDb. The show premiered in 2012 and ran until 2018. Panettiere's Nashville co-stars - including Connie Britton, Charles Esten, Sam Palladio and others - shared emotional tributes in her honor. See The Chicks' post here :
