During the meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Komatsu is a reliable and long-standing partner of Kazakhstan, making a significant contribution to the development of the country's mining infrastructure.
The President welcomed the company's decision to implement a project to build a production facility in Astana dedicated to the overhaul and refurbishment of machinery.
According to Hiroyuki Ogawa, Central Asia is a strategically important market with high potential and significant opportunities. He noted that the new facility will become the largest hub in the region, reducing repair time and costs for mining companies and ensuring prompt and efficient service support.
The Head of State emphasized Kazakhstan's interest in localizing production, further strengthening industrial cooperation between the two countries, and gaining access to advanced technologies to enhance the competitiveness of the national economy.
Special attention during the meeting was given to workforce development issues. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev supported Komatsu's initiative to establish a regional training center in Kazakhstan for operators, mechanics and engineers, noting that this project would make an important contribution to human capital development and deeper industrial partnership.
Komatsu is one of the world's largest machinery manufacturing corporations, specializing in the production of construction, mining, road and industrial equipment.
