Senator Marshall Applauds FEMA Funding for Grinnell Storm Recovery

Washington - U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), released the following statement after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved federal disaster assistance funding to help the City of Grinnell recover from severe tornadoes that impacted the community.

"Communities like Grinnell shouldn't have to face the challenges of disaster recovery alone," said Senator Marshall. "My team and I stayed engaged throughout this process, working with FEMA and state officials to help move this funding forward. I'm pleased these resources are on their way to Grinnell so the community can continue repairing critical infrastructure and rebuilding stronger than before."

The FEMA grant provides $303,825 in federal funding to repair and replace damaged road base, surfaces, curbs, and road signs throughout the city.

Senator Marshall and his staff remained in regular contact with FEMA and state officials regarding the status of Grinnell's application, advocating for a timely review and release of the funding. Today's announcement reflects the successful collaboration between local leaders, state officials, FEMA, and Senator Marshall's office to deliver the resources needed to rebuild critical infrastructure in western Kansas.
