Rockland Trust Invests $11M to Expand Behavioral Health Access on the South Shore with Rockland Recovery Group

Kingston, MA - June 25, 2026 - Rockland Trust has approved a $11 million financing package to support the development of Longview Behavioral Health, a new inpatient and outpatient behavioral health campus in Kingston, Massachusetts. The campus will be owned and operated by Rockland Recovery Group and will expand access to mental healthand substance use disorder treatment across the South Shore and is scheduled to open in August of 2026. The financing package will support the redevelopment of the former Sacred Heart School Campus's Providence House and help fuel the continued growth of Rockland Recovery Group.

Once complete, the site will be transformed into a modern behavioral health campus designed to meet a wide range of community needs. The facility will offer both inpatient and outpatient services, creating a comprehensive and integrated approach to care. By reimagining the space, the Longview project aims to create a welcoming and therapeutic environment for individuals seeking support and recovery.

Longview Behavioral Health will deliver a full continuum of care, ensuring that patients have access to appropriate services at every stage of their treatment journey. These services will include inpatient substance use disorder treatment and detox, inpatient mental health care, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP). All services will be offered under the trusted Rockland Recovery brand. The project will introduce significant new inpatient capacity to address the growing demand for behavioral health services in Massachusetts. Overall, the redevelopment will include 24 inpatient beds for mental health treatment and 39 inpatient beds dedicated to substance use disorder treatment. Notably, this will mark Rockland Recovery's first position facility, expand its capabilities and position it to better serve individuals requiring the full continuum of care.

The Longview project carries a meaningful legacy. The 23-acre property was previously home to the Sisters of the Divine Providence, an order Cardinal Richard Cushing himself helped establish on this land decades ago. Rockland Recovery's founders share a multi-generational Florence family connection to Cardinal Cushing Centers - Lenny Florence served on the organization's founding board in 1947, Eli Florence (father of Rockland Founder and CFO Kayla Florence and uncle to Founder and CEO Eddie McGrath) received the Richard Cardinal Cushing Award in 2023, and Eddie and Kelley McGrath received the same award at the Cushing Springtime Gala in May 2026.
