Stovepipe Wells Village Welcomes New General Manager Phillip Lewis

Park City, UT- POWDR, the leading adventure lifestyle company, today announced the appointment of Phillip Lewis as the new General Manager of Stovepipe Wells Village at the heart of Death Valley National Park. Lewis brings over two decades of hospitality experience to the role, poised to elevate guest experiences in one of America's most unique and challenging environments. He starts Monday, October 14, 2024.

Lewis's appointment comes as the resort continues to balance preserving its rustic charm with meeting the evolving needs of modern travelers. Prior to Stovepipe, Lewis held senior management roles at Shapur Hospitality Group, Grand Canyon North Rim, as well as several lodging facilities across North America. His extensive background in hospitality and sustainable tourism practices is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of this iconic Death Valley destination.

In his new role, Lewis will oversee all aspects of Stovepipe Wells Village's operations, including its 83 guest rooms, restaurant, general store, and gas station. He will also lead initiatives to upgrade facilities, expand educational programs about Death Valley's unique environment, and strengthen partnerships with the National Park Service and local communities. Lewis succeeds Charles Willis who will lead the Zion Lodge at Zion National Park beginning in January 2025.
