Southern Regional Honors Conference

Southern Regional Honors Conference

Honors College Friday April 3, 2026

On March 25-28, 15 Honors students participated in the Southern Regional Honors Conference in Montgomery, Alabama. Each did an excellent job presenting their scholarship and creative work. They found SRHC's City-as-Text exploration of the Legacy Museum and other sites in downtown Montgomery to be deeply meaningful. And they enjoyed spending quality time with each other and networking with Honors students and Honors faculty from across the Southeast. For photo highlights, please view this slideshow.

Kudos to each of our student presenters and presentation teams, and thank you to each of their faculty mentors: Kassie Arps (Dr. Michael Dreher), Trenton Browning (Dr. Steve Elliott-Gower), Katie Cooper (Dr. Harold Mock), Maggie Creekmore (Dr. Kerry Evans), Talia Dobkin and Rebecca Huisman (Dr. Peter Rosado Flores), Elisabeth Greig (Dr. Steve Elliott-Gower), Haley Hargrove (Dr. Steve Elliott-Gower), Jayden Kypri (Dr. Wathsala Medawala), Chloe Melton (Dr. Mark Huddle), Kayley Owens (Dr. Wathsala Medawala), Drew Rice (Dr. Mark Huddle), Sam Samiya (Prof. Kathryn Livingston), Bradley Smith (Dr. Kerry Evans) and Josephine Stephens (Dr. Juli Gittinger).
