The Minister for Defence has met with the newly appointed US Ambassador to Spain. The meeting took place almost a month after his appointment, due to their busy schedules, and they were accompanied by members of their respective teams.

Robles wished Benjamin León "success in this period marked by very complicated situations and turbulent times across the globe" and reaffirmed the commitment of Spain and its Armed Forces to peace, "as evidenced by the various missions and deployments under the NATO, UN, or European Union flags".

"Ukraine, Gaza, and now the Middle East demonstrate the volatility of something as important as peace and security", said the minister, who praised the role of our military in "defending these values, their professionalism, and their empathy".

Robles also emphasised Spain's reliability as a partner in the Atlantic Alliance and our country's commitment to defending peace, international law, and human rights.
