Delta Grain Completes Conversion to Solar Energy, Along with Other Capital Improvements

On December 6, 2024 Delta Grain hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the recently commissioned solar panels at its Sidon location. With these solar panels online, Delta Grain now has the capacity to run 100% on solar energy. These solar panels can produce up to 520 megawatt-hour (MWh), enough to power 51 homes per year. This project broke ground in August and was completed earlier this November.

This project is one of several major capital improvement projects completed this year at Delta Grain. Others include an expansion of the two main intake pits to increase the speed and efficiency of farmer deliveries, the addition of a second 10,000 bushel/hour Brock dryer, and the replacement of several key conveyors and elevators throughout the facility. These renovations were completed ahead of the 2024 harvest season and resulted in a significantly more efficient delivery experience for Delta Grain's customers.
