January 22, 2026- Allentown, PA
Representatives from the Shapiro Administration will visit Casa Guadalupe Center to encourage eligible Pennsylvanians to take advantage of the expanded Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) program. The Department of Revenue recently started accepting applications for rebates on property taxes or rent paid in 2025.
Governor Josh Shapiro secured bipartisan support for a historic expansion of the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, which delivered the largest targeted tax cut for Pennsylvania seniors in nearly 20 years. This is one of seven tax cuts the Governor has made since taking office to help ease the burden on seniors, families, and businesses.
Last year alone, the PTRR program delivered more than 512,000 rebates totaling $314 million to seniors, widows and widowers, and Pennsylvanians with disabilities who applied for a rebate on property taxes or rent paid in 2024. The PTRR program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older.
