ICE removes illegal Mexican alien wanted in Mexico for aggravated rape

NOGALES, Ariz. - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement removed Omar Alberto Almodobar Mondragon, a 29-year-old illegal alien, Sep. 4. Almodobar Mondragon had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Sinaloa, Mexico for aggravated rape against an underage family member. ICE transported Almodobar Mondragon from the Eloy Detention Center to the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales, where he was transferred to the custody of Mexican authorities.

Almodobar Mondragon entered the United States on a visitor's visa Nov. 14, 2019, and never left. He showed a disregard for U.S. immigration laws when he overstayed his visa by almost five years.

"There is no place in our society for these vile child predators," said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Phoenix Field Office Director John Cantu. "We will continue our congressionally mandated mission to preserve public safety and national security by keeping dangerous criminal aliens out of our communities."

Members of the public who have information about foreign fugitives, transnational gang members or other criminal aliens who are in the U.S. illegally are urged to contact ICE by calling the ICE Tip Line at 1 (866) 347-2423 or internationally at 001-1802-872-6199.
