Ahead of the first-ever EU-Armenia Summit, the EU-through its Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO)-and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia signed an Administrative Arrangement, marking a major step forward strengthening disaster resilience. The Arrangement opens a new phase of collaboration in civil protection, strengthening emergency response, information exchange, and capacity building.

Speaking on the occasion, Director-General of DG ECHO, Mr Maciej Popowski, stated: "This Administrative Arrangement reflects our strong partnership with Armenia. It lays the groundwork for closer cooperation and shared learning in the area of civil protection. We remain committed to supporting Armenia in building a more resilient civil protection system, which benefits not only Armenia but the wider region."
Mr Armen Ghazaryan, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, added: "With the signing of the Administrative Arrangement, we have laid the foundation for strengthened cooperation with DG ECHO".
