Community Unity Shines for Earth Month and Earth Day

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (April 19, 2026) - As we celebrate Earth Month, it is the perfect time to renew our shared commitment to recycling and keeping our community tidy.

Residents can put that commitment into action by joining the Neighborhood Cleanup Day on Earth Day, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Unity Square Community Center, 81 Remsen Ave.

Volunteers will participate in essential beautification activities to improve our local environment by working together to pick up trash and debris throughout the neighborhood and focusing on improving local recycling habits. As a special incentive, free recycling bins will be awarded to the first 15 volunteers who arrive to help with the cleanup.

To help you stay organized in your daily efforts to keep our City clean, the free Recycle Coach app is an essential tool that provides zone-specific schedules and disposal tips to keep you green and informed year-round.

This app provides New Brunswick residents with trash and recycling information specific to their zone. It also features a monthly calendar of trash and recycling pick-up days, a search function that provides information on the proper way to dispose of specific items and tips for waste reduction.

You can download it from the App Store here or Google Play here.
