Applications Remain Open for The Residences at Tidelock Affordable Homeownership Units Lottery

The City of Alexandria's Office of Housing is continuing to accept applications for the affordable homeownership units at the Residences at Tidelock lottery. Please review the Homebuyer Resources webpagecarefully to learn about the lottery eligibility requirements and application process. Please note: the base sales prices for the units do NOT include optional parking, which costs $30,000 per space.

The Residences at Tidelock, a new 65-unit condominium community located at 1111 N. Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA, opened in May 2026. Four affordable condominium units-one 1-bedroom unit, one 1-bedroom+den unit, and two 2-bedroom units-will be available to income-eligible, first-time homebuyers that live or work in the City of Alexandria, VA. One 2-bedroom unit is designed as an accessible unit. Due to anticipated demand, eligible homebuyers will be selected through a lottery.

The application window will be open between Saturday, May 23 through Monday, June 22, 2026 at 5 p.m. Completed applications should be submitted via Smartsheet and include the following required documents:

1. Tidelock Homebuyer Lottery Application Form (Paper copies are also available in-person at the Office of Housing, 100 N. Pitt Street, Suite #425, Alexandria, VA, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. upon request.)
2. Copy of your mortgage preapproval letter issued within the last 60 days;* and
3. Virginia Housing Homebuyer training certificate,* received after completing a Virginia Housing Homebuyer Education class.

*Note: You will submit these documents with your completed Homebuyer Application as attachments in the Smartsheet form.

This application is for consideration for the lottery. The units are not assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.
