Celebrate Graduate Student Appreciation Month throughout February

Graduate Student Appreciation Month at Marquette University celebrates the contributions, creativity and dedication of our graduate students. Throughout the month of February, a wide range of in-person and virtual events will be offered, including opportunities focused on wellness and self-care, professional development, research recognition, community building, funding exploration, competitions and career development.

Whether you're looking to learn, connect, create or simply take a well-earned break, Graduate Student Appreciation Month offers something for every graduate student.

Week 1: Feb. 2-6

  • Coffee and Donuts
    • Monday, Feb. 2; 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Zilber Hall 200
    • No registration required.
  • Networking Is for Everyone
    • Tuesday, Feb. 3; 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. online

  • Teaching Assistant Appreciation Luncheon
    • Wednesday, Feb. 4; 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    • AMU Lunda Room
  • GSO outing to the Milwaukee Bucks vs. New Orleans Pelicans

Week 2: February 9-13

  • Yoga for graduate students
    • Tuesday, Feb. 10; noon to 1 p.m. Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility second floor, blue studio
  • Graduate Student Poster Competition
    • Wednesday, Feb. 11; 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the AMU Ballrooms

Week 3: Feb. 16-20

  • Mindfulness/stress-relief session for graduate students
    • Wednesday, Feb. 18; noon to 1 p.m. in Wellness + Helfaer Recreation, room 409
  • Snack Break
    • Thursday, Feb. 19; 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Zilber Hall 200
  • Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition
    • Friday, Feb. 20; 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Weasler Auditorium
    • Event announcement winners of the 3MT, Graduate Student Teaching Excellence awards, Graduate School Faculty Mentor awards, Graduate Student Poster Competition and Graduate Student Photo Competition.
  • Graduate Student Organization (GSO) FREE Volleyball, Bowling, and Ping Pong Night
    • Friday, Feb. 20; 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Union Sports Annex

Week 4: February 23-27

  • Introduction to Grant Writing & Finding Funding for Graduate Students
    • Tuesday, Feb. 24; noon to 1 p.m. online
    • MS Teams
  • Campus Ministry Open House & Sacred Spaces tour
    • Thursday, Feb. 26; 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in AMU 236
