New veterans' support centre in Tauranga

A new support centre has opened for veterans and families in the Tauranga and Western Bay of Plenty regions. The new centre, at Chadwick House on Chadwick Rd, in the suburb of Greerton was opened on May 27 with a blessing of the building, memorial area and vehicles.

The centre is operated by the Tauranga RSA and provides one-on-one support services for current and former New Zealand Defence Force personnel, surviving spouses and family members.

District Support Manager Tricia Hague says since the opening they have been busy supporting veterans and their families.

"It is great to see many veterans coming in and seeking support. We cover the whole range of health-related support, financial assistance, or helping them understand what support is available," she said.

RSA Support Advisor appointments are available for current and former NZ Defence Force veterans, widows, and families. If you live in the region, you can drop in for one-on-one guidance on entitlements, applications, and connecting with government or service agencies.
