International security and Russia's threat to the global order were at the top of the agenda as Poland's top diplomat Radosław Sikorski visited Kyiv on 12-13 September 2025.

Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski visited Ukraine to take part in Yalta European Strategy -an annual international conference which brings together leaders from politics, business, the media, civil society, and the expert community held in Ukraine since 2004.

On the sidelines of the event, the head of Polish diplomacy met with Ukrainian and European politicians. Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski spoke with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal. He also met with Finland's President Alexander Stubb and UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper.

At the joint press conference held with Ukraine's chief diplomat Sybiha, Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski noted that Moscow's military provocations require further unity between Ukraine, Europe, and the United States. He also declared that the West will keep up its support for Ukraine as helping Kyiv is the matter of both Europe's security and stability of the entire international system. Minister Sikorski stressed that:

Solidarity with Ukraine and unity of the West will be best response to Russian agression.

In his talks with Ukrainian officials, Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski stressed that the intensification of Russian attacks on Ukraine shows that Moscow does not intend to stop its aggressive behaviour and demonstrates a non-constructive approach to the peace process. He also added that Poland wants to extend its military cooperation with the Ukrainian defence sector under the SAFE instrument.

In the context of the recent funeral ceremony for the victims of the Volhynian massacre in Puźniki, Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski praised the positive turn in the Polish-Ukrainian historical dialogue.
