ITOCHU Wins Grand Prize at the 75th Nikkei Advertising Awards for its "Made in Japan" Advertisement Series

October 21, 2026

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Keita Ishii, President & COO; hereinafter "ITOCHU") announced today that it has won the Grand Prize at the 75th Nikkei Advertising Awards organized by Nikkei Inc. This is the first time that ITOCHU has won the award since 2017, nine years ago.

Established in 1952, the Nikkei Advertising Awards is Japan's most prestigious advertising award. The award recognizes outstanding work based on criteria such as the clarity of the advertisement's purpose and storytelling, the creativity of the methods of expression and forward-looking qualities that capture the spirit of the times.

ITOCHU won the Grand Prize for its "Made in Japan" advertisement series published in June and September 2026.

In recent years, corporations have been increasingly expected to handle social issues in their advertising. Accordingly, the series addressed concerns that the Nikkei readers would have about the competitiveness of Japan. The 15-column advertisement asked the question, "Does Japan Still Believe in Itself?"

Japan still possesses exceptional technologies and a high quality level in many areas that can be proudly shared with the world. The advertisement series highlighted the combination of these strengths and the market-oriented approach valued by the ITOCHU Group companies, portrayed through their specific businesses. The June advertisement featured EDWIN, and the September advertisement featured ITOCHU CERATECH. Each 30-column advertisement presented an answer to the question.

ITOCHU will continue to work to sustainably enhance its corporate value by listening to the opinions of its diverse stakeholders, including society, consumers, and other stakeholders in its markets.
