Local organisations with plans for projects, events and initiatives that will make a difference in Kalgoorlie-Boulder are encouraged to apply for the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder's second round of 2026/27 Major Grants.
The program supports large-scale community-led projects with broad community benefit, with grants of more than $50,000 available to eligible organisations.
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organisations, incorporated community groups, clubs, associations, social enterprises and registered charities. Individuals may also apply through an eligible auspice organisation.
The latest round follows the allocation of $227,000 to five local not-for-profit organisations in August, supporting projects across motorsport, arts and culture, community storytelling and early intervention services for children and families.
Mayor Glenn Wilson said the City's grants program is an important way the City can support local organisations in delivering projects that benefit the wider community.
"In the first round, we supported a really diverse mix of projects, from the Kalgoorlie Desert Race to Second Act Arts' work capturing and preserving our local stories," he said.
"They're very different projects, but both bring something to our community, whether that's creating opportunities for people to get involved, attracting visitors or celebrating the stories that make Kalgoorlie-Boulder special.

"There's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes in our local organisations, often driven by people who are giving up their own time to make things happen.
"If your organisation has a project or idea that could make a difference locally, I'd encourage you to have a look at the program and start a conversation with the City."
Applications for Round Two close at 5 pm on Friday 29 January 2027.
The application process includes a pre-grant meeting with the City's Community Development Team, providing applicants with an opportunity to discuss their proposed project, confirm eligibility, explore the most suitable funding stream and understand the program requirements before applying.
Projects must be delivered within the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and demonstrate a clear benefit to the local community.
