ICYMI: Goodlander Leads Roundtable Focused on Growing and Strengthening NH Small Businesses

Salem, N.H. - Yesterday, Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander, a member of the House Small Business Committee, hosted a roundtable in Salem with local business leaders to discuss the challenges New Hampshire small businesses are facing and new opportunities for local and congressional partners to work together to build a more inclusive and resilient economy.

"At the Copper Door in Salem, I had an important conversation with an amazing group of NH small businesses. We covered a lot of ground, and I heard from a wide range of industries: hospitality to healthcare, construction to banking, land surveying to life sciences. Lots of agreement around the table," said Congresswoman Goodlander.

"Primary Bank opened its doors 10 years ago with a mission to support New Hampshire small businesses and entrepreneurs, who are the backbone of our economy," said Bill Greiner, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Primary Bank. "Right after Congresswoman Goodlander was elected, she reached out and wanted to connect with small business owners to hear their concerns and ideas. Based on our conversation today, it is clear that she understands small business issues and will be a leading voice for New Hampshire's business community in Washington."

"Small business and our entrepreneurs are at the heart of our life sciences ecosystem here in NH. As our sector continues to see record growth, we look forward to working with Rep. Goodlander to ensure our life sciences sector continues to thrive through policies that incentivize growth and investment, and reflect the immense amount of work, research, funding and collaboration it takes to bring life-changing medical technologies and therapies to patients around the globe from right here in the Granite State," said Andrea Hechavarria, President & CEO of New Hampshire Life Sciences.

Goodlander was joined by Bill Greiner, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Primary Bank; Joe Graham of Primary Bank; Andrea Hechavarria, President & CEO of New Hampshire Life Sciences; Tom Boucher, Chief Executive Officer of Great NH Restaurants; Mike Somers, President & CEO, NH Lodging & Restaurant Association; Daryl Luterm, President, Fulcrum Associates, Construction Management; Ian and Mike Buckley of the Michael Timothy Dining Group; Christine St Laurent and Jennie Arnold of Save On Wall Company; Sam Foisie and Sam Ingram of Meridian Land Services; Dr. Bob Heaps; Thomas Foxx Taylor, President and CEO of Foxx Life Sciences; and Bernie Lontine, 110 Grille.

Congresswoman Goodlander has dedicated her life to serving New Hampshire and our country. Before taking the oath of office to represent New Hampshire in the People's House, she served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the United States Department of Justice, where she took on the corporate monopolies hurting New Hampshire's small businesses and held them accountable for jacking up prices and making life harder for hardworking Granite Staters. Earlier this year, the House passed a slate of seven bipartisan small business bills co-led by Goodlander to empower New Hampshire small businesses, including the Small Business Advocacy Improvements Act.
