Everyone Is Invited To "Las Tres Flores"
Dedication & Reception Sept. 1

Join Artist Justin Favela For 9 A.M. Tuesday Dedication At 2500 Sunrise Ave.

The city of Las Vegas invites everyone to join the celebration and dedication of the city's newest public art sculpture - "Las Tres Flores" - Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 9 a.m. outdoors at 2500 Sunrise Ave. The dedication will be followed by a reception at 10 a.m. at the East Las Vegas Community Center, located at 250 N. Eastern Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Director Maggie Plaster will open the dedication that also will feature remarks from artist Justin Favela, Ward 3 Councilwoman and Mayor Pro Tem Olivia Diaz and Las Vegas Arts Commissioner Fawn Douglas.

Created for this East Las Vegas neighborhood, this vibrant installation highlights the beauty of the desert through three towering metal bear poppy flowers and a single bud rising from blue green leaves. Boulders at the base reflect the rocky terrain where the bear poppy thrives and the mountains that frame East Las Vegas. The city of Las Vegas commissioned the sculpture, which sits on an island at the corner of Sunrise Avenue and 26th Street. The installation was made possible through the work of Justin Favela, Vik Sehdev (principal engineer) and Adin Fly (fabricator).
