ATLANTA - State Representative Sheila Jones (D-Atlanta) recognizes and commends the women of House District 60, which she represents, during Women's History Month for their contributions in shaping communities, advancing progress and fostering positive change.
"The women of State House District 60 have demonstrated unwavering dedication in many fields, including business, education, healthcare, public service and community advocacy," said Rep. Jones. "These women have played a vital role in enhancing economic development, championing social causes and enriching the cultural fabric of their communities. It is abundantly fitting and proper that these distinguished women be appropriately honored for their outstanding achievements and contributions."
Women's History Month has been observed during the month of March nationwide since Congress' designation in 1987. The awareness month is a time to honor and spotlight women's role in the history of the United States, as well as its communities, cities and states.

Representative Sheila Jones represents the citizens of District 60, which includes Cobb and Fulton counties (the City of Atlanta, the City of South Fulton and Sandy Springs). She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2004 and currently serves as Secretary of the Judiciary Juvenile Committee. She also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education, Health, Transportation and Ways & Means committees.
