The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities officially kicked off its 39th Annual Conference, "Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Reaching New heights of Excellence and Equity," with over 1,600 registrants on Nov. 1, 2025.
The Opening plenary was convened by Juan Sanchez Muñoz, Ph.D., HACU's Governing Board chair and chancellor, University of California, Merced. HACU Interim CEO John Moder gave the Annual Address, followed by HACU's Hall of Champions induction. The HACU Hall of Champions 2025 inductee was Félix V. Matos Rodriguez Ph.D., chancellor of The City University of New York.
Sponsor and Partner remarks were given by Maria Pia Tamburri, Dominion Energy's vice president of intergovernmental affairs and economic development; Audrey Stewart, Google's global head of impact and reporting; and Francesca Martinez, the American Heart Association's national director of the Bernard J. Tyson Office of Health. Capital One was also recognized for their support of HACU and the Annual Conference. HACU thanks all its partners and sponsors for their support of its 39th Annual Conference.
A total of seven honorees are being recognized for their contributions to improving opportunities for college students during the three-day conference events. The awards will be presented during various events of HACU's 39th Annual Conference, November 1-3, in Aurora, Colorado.
