Celebrating 20 Years of Impact During Alexandria Mentoring Month!

January is Alexandria Mentoring Month and National Mentoring Month, and this year, the Alexandria Mentoring Partnership (AMP) is excited to celebrate its 20th anniversary! Founded in 2006, AMP comprises a variety of local mentoring programs with a shared mission to ensure that quality volunteer mentors and programming are available for any young Alexandrian who needs them.

AMP invites all Alexandrians to celebrate this milestone and discover how they can help empower our City's young people by participating in the following:

Proclamation of Alexandria Mentoring Month
AMP staff will attend the City Council meeting on January 13, where January will be proclaimed Alexandria Mentoring Month. Mentees, mentors, and staff from AMP's partner programs are invited to attend.

Mentoring 101 Info Sessions
Have you considered becoming a mentor but weren't sure where to start? Join AMP at one of its upcoming info sessions to learn about what a mentor is, the mentoring needs in Alexandria, AMP partner programs, and how just a few hours a month can make a positive impact in a young person's life.

Discover Mentoring at Your Local Library
Community members are invited to stop by AMP's feature table at Ellen Coolidge Burke Branch Library, James M. Duncan Branch Library, and Kate Waller Barrett Branch Library throughout the month of January. Information about AMP mentoring programs and a curated collection of mentoring-related books will be on display.
