City Announces New Year’s Day Schedule for Municipal Service
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (December 29, 2025) - The City of New Brunswick will observe the New Year's Day holiday on Thursday, Jan. 1. City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed. Public safety and emergency services will remain in operation.
The New Brunswick Free Public Library, 60 Livingston Ave., will close starting at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and remain closed on Jan. 1. The New Brunswick Senior Citizen Resource Center is also closed in observance of New Year's Day.
In addition, on New Year's Day, federal and state offices will be closed, there will be no mail delivery, and financial institutions will be closed.
