Lincoln Heights Starts Off September with a Community Day

The District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA) hosted a community day at Lincoln Heights on Saturday, Sept. 12, as part of its Rebuilding Our Communities Block Party series. DCHA residents celebrated a fun-filled day with family, friends and neighbors. Ward 7 City Councilmember Wendell Felder also stopped by to mingle with everyone. Partygoers enjoyed food, live music, games, face painting, bounce houses and more. The block party also allowed people to connect and strengthen community bonds.
In addition to the fun, service providers were also available to provide information about various resources to attendees. These providers connect individuals with support regarding education, workforce development, job opportunities, healthcare, and more.
DCHA's Rebuilding Our Communities initiative focuses on building connections between community members and providing access to helpful resources. DCHA will host additional block parties in this series at other public housing communities through October.
