In Washington, D. C., Minister Budrys honored two Lithuanian-Americans for their merits to Lithuania

On 11 November in Washington, D. C., the Minister of Foreign Affairs Kęstutis Budrys met with the Lithuanian community and decorated the Lithuanian-Americans who have distinguished themselves in service to Lithuania. The Foreign Minister conferred 'Lithuania's Diplomacy Star' on Saulius Linas Anužis and presented the 'For Diaspora Merits to Lithuania' award to Diana Bieliauskas Vidutis.

"I express my sincere gratitude and respect for your long-time work, ideas, and support in strengthening Lithuania's voice in the world. You have always been a strong pillar for us in the United States as Lithuania sought and subsequently consolidated its independence, and as we advanced along the path of Euro-Atlantic integration. We continue to feel your active support in defending freedom and democracy even now, as the security situation in Europe has dramatically changed," said Lithuania's head of diplomacy Budrys.

Saulius Linas Anužis was awarded an honorary award of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Lithuania's Diplomacy Star - that recognizes his long-time outstanding achievements in strengthening bilateral economic, political and cultural ties between Lithuania and the State of Michigan, active contribution to representing Lithuania's interests and assistance to the Lithuanian Embassy in the U.S. in establishing contacts with representatives of the Republican Party in Washington, D.C., and across the states.

Diana Bieliauskas Vidutis received the honour award of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - 'For Diaspora Merits to Lithuania' medal - from the hands of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in recognition of her long-standing active involvement in the Lithuanian-American community and the Joint Baltic American National Committee, as well as her philanthropy. This award recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions to fostering Lithuanian identity and encouraging diaspora involvement in the life of Lithuania and the creation of prosperity in it.
