Brendan Goldup, PA-C, Joins The Orthopedic Center

The Orthopedic Center welcomes Brendan Goldup, PA-C, to its team of orthopedic providers. The Orthopedic Center is an affiliate medical practice of University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System.

Goldup brings extensive experience in orthopedic care, sports medicine and athletic training. Before joining The Orthopedic Center, Goldup served as an orthopedic physician assistant with Cape Cod Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Hyannis, Mass., where he evaluated and treated orthopedic conditions, performed joint injections with and without ultrasound guidance, conducted pre- and post-operative assessments and helped patients understand diagnostic imaging and treatment options. He also assisted orthopedic surgeons in upper-extremity procedures, including shoulder arthroplasty, shoulder arthroscopy, distal radius fracture repair and carpal tunnel surgery. His experience also includes assisting with total hip and total knee arthroplasty.

His background in athletic training further complements his orthopedic expertise. Goldup previously worked as a staff athletic trainer at the College of Saint Rose, providing care for student-athletes, including the men's basketball team. He also worked with Select Medical, providing evaluation, diagnosis, rehabilitation and treatment for injuries among NBA officials.

Goldup earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Long Island University - Brooklyn, a Master of Science in Exercise Science with a focus on Motor Development from Auburn University and a Bachelor of Health Science in Athletic Training from Sacred Heart University.

"I'm excited to join The Orthopedic Center and become part of the health care community on the Eastern Shore," said Goldup. "My goal is to provide patients with personalized orthopedic care that helps them return to the activities and quality of life that are important to them."

Goldup is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Physician Assistant Orthopedic Surgery Society.
