WVDOH closing eastbound lanes on Kanawha Turnpike bridge

West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) engineers are closing the two eastbound lanes on a small bridge on WV 601 (Kanawha Turnpike) just west of the new Kanawha Turnpike/Jefferson Road roundabout, near Country Club Village.

The lanes were closed on Thursday, November 13, 2025, following a routine bridge inspection.

Traffic heading west on WV 601 toward St. Albans will be able to use the westbound half of the bridge. Traffic heading east on WV 601 toward Charleston will detour at Chesapeake Street or Chestnut Street to MacCorkle Avenue (US 60).

Eastbound traffic will be able to access Country Club Village.

Weather permitting, engineers expect the bridge to reopen by Saturday evening, November 15, 2025.
