Liberty Mutual Insurance Awards $6.1 Million to Collaborative Initiatives Advancing Climate Resilience, Workforce Development and Housing Stability

Expanded Impact-Driven Collaboration program now includes implementation grants to scale nonprofit solutions

BOSTON (Dec. 16, 2025) - Today, Liberty Mutual Insurance announced $6.1 million in grants to fuel nonprofit collaborations tackling some of the country's toughest challenges, from climate resilience to workforce development to housing stability, through its Impact-Driven Collaboration (IDC) program.

Launched in 2024, the IDC program was designed to give nonprofits the structure, time, and resources needed to build partnerships and address challenges too complex for any single organization to solve alone. The program invests in planning and implementation of formal collaborations among three or more nonprofits to align goals, share expertise, and build solutions at scale.

Demand for the inaugural cycleof IDC planning grants far exceeded expectations. Sixteen partnerships, representing 60 nonprofits, received funding to foster collaboration, break down silos, and accelerate progress on coordinated, sustained efforts. These partnerships advanced initiatives in workforce readiness, green jobs, food security, and more.

"Complex issues require coordinated, cross-sector solutions," said Liberty Mutual Chief Community Investments & Sustainability Officer, Francis Hyatt. "These collaborations help build the relationships and infrastructure needed to strengthen communities and create long-term change."

Building on this momentum, Liberty Mutual is awarding its first-ever three-year Implementation Grants to three collaboratives that completed the IDC planning phase and are now ready to move their solutions into action:

  • American Forests - $1,500,000
