Temporary Fire Watch for Swirbul Library

Due to temporary water supply repairs, the Swirbul Library fire alarm standpipe system is temporarily shut down. Until service is restored, trained Public Safety personnel will monitor the building as a temporary safety measure known as a Fire Watch.

Fire Watch for Swirbul Library is effective immediately and until further notice.

Please take note:

• Swirbul Library Hours: Swirbul will be open under an active Fire Watch during its regular weekday and weekend operating hours.
• Overnight Closures: The building will remain closed during non-business hours; this includes after-hours access to the library.

This Fire Watch is a temporary measure required by Section F901.7 of the New York State Fire Code when fire safety systems are impaired, inoperable or undergoing maintenance. Trained personnel will monitor for signs of fire and take any necessary action to ensure the safety of the occupants and property.

Please plan classes, study sessions and activities accordingly. Thank you for your support of our community's continued safety and well-being.
