EUDA Executive Director to address European Parliament on current drug situation

This week, EUDA Executive Director, Alexis Goosdeel, will present the latest insights on the European drug situation to members of the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE).

In his presentation, Mr Goosdeel will highlight the current and emerging challenges posed by the drugs problem today, including the persistence of the drug market, the rise in stimulant use and the increase in drug-related violence. He will also discuss societal vulnerabilities linked to the phenomenon and the importance of building resistance through holistic, human rights-based responses.

This will be Mr Goosdeel's final address to the LIBE Committee before the conclusion of his mandate on 31 December 2025. Mr Goosdeel has maintained a longstanding and constructive dialogue with the Committee throughout his 10-year mandate, regularly updating members on developments in the EU drug situation and the agency's work.
