Man Fatally Injured in Saturday's Two-Vehicle Collision on Clarksville Pike

The man killed in Saturday's 1 p.m. two-vehicle collision on Clarksville Pike at Bobel Lane is identified as Dustin McLeod, 41, of Smithville. The deceased was misidentified on Saturday. An internal review to understand how the misidentification occurred is underway by Traffic Division leadership.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of a 2004 Nissan Titan pickup truck, James Brewington Jr., 60, was southbound on Clarksville Pike when he swerved into oncoming traffic after going around a vehicle making a right turn onto Bobel Lane. Brewington collided head-on with a northbound 2016 Jeep Renegade driven by McLeod.

McLeod was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he died. Brewington remains hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries.
