SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV - More than 40 prospective students and their families visited Shepherd University's campus for its Spring Open House on Saturday, March 7. The event gave participants an opportunity to explore campus life and learn more about the academic and student experiences awaiting them at Shepherd.
Open House events introduce prospective students and their families to Shepherd University and provide an in-depth look at academic programs, campus life, and student support resources.
The day began with a welcome program and information session outlining the admissions process and opportunities available to Shepherd students. In a new format, visitors then created personalized schedules based on their academic interests, allowing them to attend departmental sessions, meet professors in their classrooms, and learn about Shepherd's majors and minors.
Throughout the event, students and families also explored campus resources and support services. Representatives from financial aid, admissions, residence life, academic advising, and success coaching were available to answer questions and help families better understand the support systems available to Shepherd students.
"Open House gives prospective students and their families a chance to experience Shepherd firsthand," said Will Bell, associate vice president of enrollment management. "By meeting faculty, connecting with current students, and exploring campus, they can begin to envision what their future as a Shepherd Ram might look like."
Shepherd University offers a variety of campus visit opportunities throughout the year, including weekend and weekday tours, group visits, and special admissions events designed to help prospective and admitted students explore the University and its programs.
