King Tide Coastal Flooding Projected in Marin County

King Tides are expected to peak in the Bay Area from Thursday, January 29 to Monday, February 2, with the highest tides occurring between 7:30 a.m. and noon each day. Flooding is possible in low-lying and flood-prone areas, especially locations that have flooded during pas King Tide Events.

Prepare now:

  • Clear drainage areas
  • Remove leaves and debris from gutters, drains, and driveways
  • Dispose of debris in compost bins, not the street

Secure your home:

  • If you live in a flood-prone area, consider using sandbags to protect your home from tidal flooding.

Avoid the water:

  • Stay away from flooded areas and never walk or drive through water of unknown depth. Follow road signs and do not drive around barricades.
