City of Wilmington Invites Community Members to Participate in 250th Projects and Events

WILMINGTON - The City of Wilmington is inviting residents, community organizations, businesses, and stakeholders to participate in the creation of an official 250th events calendar and a Legacy Video Project that will highlight Wilmington's history, culture, and impact.

Events Calendar

Hosted on InWilmDE.com [wilmingtonde.us9.list-manage.com], the events calendar will offer a central location for members of the community to view official Wilmington 250 events.

For your event to be designated as a Wilmington 250 Event, it must meet the following requirements:

  • Has a specific component recognizing or celebrating Wilmington/Delaware/America 250

  • Takes place in Greater Wilmington

  • Can have historical components or ties to the American revolution, but not essential (eg: Brewery Toast to 250)

  • Open to all (admission fees are permitted, but any paying attendee must have access)

Steps to submit your event to the calendar:

  • Visit InWilmDE.com

  • Hover over "Events" at the top of the page and click on "Suggest an Event"

  • Fill out the form, include the event name, date, time, location, description, and website. Please also upload an image to accompany the listing

  • Click "submit"

  • Your event will be posted to the website following approval

Video Project

The video project aims to capture the voices, milestones, and moments that have helped shape Wilmington into the vibrant city it is today. Through this initiative, the city hopes to collect community-driven perspectives that reflect Wilmington's diverse neighborhoods, people, and achievements.

Community members are encouraged to submit suggestions for individuals, locations, events, or stories that should be featured in the project. Submissions may include historical context, personal experiences, or recommendations for people and places that represent Wilmington's legacy.

Those interested in contributing ideas or materials for consideration can send submissions via email to [email protected].
