The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Southeast Regional Land Office (SERO) has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Alaska Housing Finance Corporation
PROJECT NAME: ADL 109458
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:
Juneau, Alaska; Mendenhall River, adjacent to 3041 Clinton Drive and 2800 Postal Way, on state-owned land, within state-issued Easement ADL 109338.
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
C040S066E25 and C040S065E30: NE ¼ Section 25, Township 40 South, Range 66 East, Copper River Meridian; and NW ¼ Section 30, Township 40 South, Range 65 East, Copper River Meridian, containing approximately 0.33 acres.
REQUESTED ACTIVITY:
DMLW received an application from Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (applicant) on June 25th, 2025, for the continued maintenance of riprap armored rock installed in the late 1990s.
Trespass file ADL 108405 was opened in 2015 after the riprap was discovered on a site visit of the Mendenhall River. The trespass file will subsequently be closed once ADL 109458 is issued.
This is a notice of application for development within an existing easement. Comments are not solicited. After review and adjudication, DMLW may issue an authorization with stipulations for the continued activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
The Division of Mining, Land and Water reserves the right to waive technical defects in this publication.
