SH-25 railroad crossing in Rupert to close for repairs over the weekend

RUPERT - The Idaho Transportation Department, in conjunction with the Eastern Idaho Railroad, will temporarily close the rail crossing near the intersection of State Highway 24 and State Highway 25 starting at 8 p.m. Thursday evening, until 8 a.m. Monday morning, for repairs.

During this time crews will replace concrete, repair the ground beneath the crossing and add new pavement to address the rough, bumpy roadway. This is the last crossing scheduled for these improvements following similar work at other crossings in Buhl and Wendell.

Drivers should follow posted road signs to navigate around the closure, plan extra travel time and always use caution when driving near a work zone.
