Department of War's strategic priorities focus of ABA national security luncheon

WASHINGTON, April 22, 2026 - Michael Cadenazzi, assistant secretary of war for industrial base policy, who oversees the Department of War's efforts to strengthen and sustain the U.S. defense industrial base (DIB) and protect vital national security supply chains, will join Brian Egan, partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, in a fireside chat on Tuesday, May 5. They will speak at an American Bar Association Standing Committee on Law and National Security luncheon from noon-1:30 p.m. EDT at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in Washington, D.C.

The discussion will explore the department's latest initiatives and strategic priorities, including the injection of U.S. government capital into U.S. DIB companies, advice for non-traditional defense companies looking to get into defense contracting and efforts by the department to strengthen critical minerals supply chain as well as changes to streamline/modernize the U.S. government defense acquisition process.
