PUBLIC NOTICE

2026 ANNUAL NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT

The 2026 Annual Notice of Assessment was mailed on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. This notice provides the current fair market value of your property as determined by the Board of Assessors

and appraisal staff, along with any exemptions applied. If you disagree with your value or exemption status, you must file a written appeal with the

Paulding Board of Assessors no later than Friday, July 17, 2026. Property owners may apply for a Homestead Exemption or Agriculture Covenants during the appeal period.

HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION ELIGIBILITY

To qualify for a Homestead Exemption:

  • Your name must appear on the property deed
  • The property must be owned and occupied as your legal residence as of January 1
  • You may claim a homestead exemption on only one property, including properties located in other counties or states

You must provide legal proof of residency and U.S. citizenship, such as:

  • A valid Georgia driver's license
  • A Georgia identification card

AGRICULTURE COVENANT ELIGIBILITY

Property may qualify for an Agriculture Covenant if owned by:

  • One or more natural or naturalized citizens
  • An estate with heirs or devisees who are natural or naturalized citizens
  • A trust with beneficiaries who are natural or naturalized citizens
  • A family-owned farm entity (such as a family corporation)
  • A bona fide nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS
  • A bona fide club organized for recreation or other non-profit purposes

Eligible uses include:

  • Raising, harvesting, or storing crops
  • Feeding, breeding, or managing livestock or poultry
  • Producing plants, trees, fowl, or fish
  • Maintaining wildlife on more than 10 acres
  • Producing aquaculture, horticulture, floriculture, forestry, dairy, livestock, poultry, and apiarian products
