ATF investigation results in a 12-year sentence for Gastonia drug trafficker

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A joint ATF, Gaston County Police Department led investigation resulted in a 12-year sentence for Bryan Tromon Green, 35, of Gastonia, N.C. Green was sentenced on Wednesday for distributing fentanyl-laced pills and selling firearms in Gaston County.

"The combination of drug dealing and illegal firearm possession is a recipe for violence and tragedy," said ATF Special Agent in Charge Alicia Jones. "Taking back firearms from prohibited individuals and stopping the flow of drugs into our communities is a priority for ATF and all of our law enforcement partners."

Green's co-conspirator, Jarvis Sentell Lynn, 38, also of Gastonia, was previously sentenced to more than nine years in prison for trafficking fentanyl and cocaine.

Between March 2024 and April 2024, Green, a convicted felon, sold fentanyl pills multiple times to a confidential informant in Gaston County. The same informant also purchased two firearms from Green: a Walther, Model PK380, .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol and an American Tactical Imports, Model Omni Hybrid, 5.56 caliber semi-automatic rifle.

During that same period, law enforcement also set up multiple controlled drug purchases with co-conspirator Lynn at his residence in Gastonia for pills pressed with fentanyl. Investigators were able to purchase a firearm from Lynn and later seized multiple weapons and ammunition from his residence, including semi-automatic pistols and rifles.

Green and Lynn both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine and distribution of fentanyl. They are in federal custody and will be transferred to the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons upon designation to a federal facility.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Nick J. Miller of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Charlotte prosecuted the case.
